HOW CAN CBD HELP FIGHT THE FLU OR COMMON COLD?
Both cannabidiol (CBD) and THC, molecules found within the cannabis plant, can help ease many symptoms of the flu and common cold.
CBD has natural antibacterial properties which can help fight against secondary bacterial infections that may develop from the cold and flu. CBD is also an anti-inflammatory, properties may help open up the sinus passages and increase ease of breathing.
How much to take?
As with all applications, how much CBD to take will vary for every individual. Because CBD is processed differently based on a variety of factors, it is generally recommended to stick to a steady daily regimen for two to three weeks to allow CBD to build up within the body. Depending on your desired results, the amount of CBD oil to take will vary.
How Long for the Desired Results?
The timeframe for desired results from CBD oil will differ for each person. As always, it is recommended to start with a lower measurement and adjust as needed.
Will CBD Oil make me high, or give me a buzz?
Absolutely not! CBD oil is an entirely different cannabinoid from THC. Moreover, CBD extracted from hemp contains negligible amounts of THC — less than 0.03 percent — making it impossible for anyone (including their pet) to feel high when using it. Remember, although CBD oil comes from hemp, CBD oil is not marijuana.
What is CBD Oil?
CBD, also known as cannabidiol oil is one of many cannabinoids found in cannabis.
Cannabis is the genus name for both marijuana and hemp, and the term itself is not necessarily interchangeable with marijuana. In fact, almost all CBD oil today comes from industrial hemp, which contains negligible amounts of THC, the cannabinoid responsible for causing a high. Most strains of agricultural hemp are rich in CBD while only having less than 0.03 percent THC, making them perfect for extracting CBD oil.
Won’t using hemp oil products, even hemp creams, make me fail a drug test?
Absolutely not! Hemp contains so little THC, the chemical found in marijuana associated with being “high” that it’s impossible for it to show up on a drug test. The levels of THC in hemp are below what is screened for on the average drug test that employers or athletic associations use today.

How is CBD Isolated from the Hemp Plant?
CO2 extraction is the best method to extract pure CBD isolate, in which state it exists as a clear/white crystal. This method is preferred over other methods because it leaves practically zero traces of chemical contaminants in the end product. Alcohol extraction is another method, wherein a liquid such as ethanol, butane, or hexane is run through raw plant material to extract the CBD and then evaporated to leave only the active cannabinoid. This can be a dangerous method because it’s prone to leaving excess traces of the butane or hexane chemicals in the extract. Also, infusing vegetable oil (i.e. olive oil) is another effective way of extracting CBD. All you do is grind up the raw plant material, decarboxylate (heat) it, and let it sit in boiling (100-deg Celsius) oil for about 2 hours.
Does CBD affect appetite?
Unlike THC, CBD has negligible effects on appetite and satiety.
Does CBD cause side effects?
Typically CBD is not associated with many side effects but these have all been reported:
– Dry mouth
– Rarely can cause feelings of mild intoxication
Will CBD interact with my other medications?
Consult your physician before taking any new dietary supplements. At low doses of CBD, less than 150mg total per day, it is unlikely that significant drug-herb interactions will occur. However it is always possible that drug-herb interactions can occur, and this is more likely the higher the dose. CBD and other plant cannabinoids can potentially interact with many pharmaceuticals by inhibiting the activity of cytochrome P450, a family of liver enzymes. If you are taking a medication where maintaining a certain blood level is critical- such as anti-seizure, anti-viral, blood-thinning medications – talk with your health care provider or pharmacist before trying CBD.
Why am I not feeling the desired effect?
The first thing to remember is CBD is not THC and does not provide any psychoactive effects. The relaxing effect of CBD depends on many factors, including the amount consumed, the rate at which it is consumed, your body mass, and your metabolism.
